Red Phenolic Resin Faced Plywood for Shuttering Formwork

Product Introduction

Plywood Description

Primarily used in concrete pouring construction, it typically uses a core of eucalyptus, pine, or birch veneer, with 7-9 layers arranged in a crisscross pattern. Formed through a combination of cold and hot pressing, it achieves a compact, hollow-free structure. The surface is coated with red phenolic resin adhesive, primarily WBP (WBP), but also melamine and urea (MR) adhesives. Plywood edge sealed with waterproof yellow or red paints. It boasts a high gloss and smoothness, allowing for easy demolding of the concrete. With proper care, it can be reused over 10 times.

This formwork is waterproof, corrosion-resistant, and resistant to low and high temperatures, making it particularly suitable for use in rainy weather, the plum rain season, or areas with high temperatures and heavy rainfall. It is suitable for horizontal formwork, shear walls, vertical wall panels, viaducts, and overpasses in both high-rise and low-rise buildings.

The plywood is made from phenolic resin glue, which is a strong and durable material that can withstand heavy loads and wet or humid conditions. With proper care, it can be reused over 10 times.

High nail holding force and bending strength, supports sawing, drilling, and special-shaped processing, and the operating efficiency is about 30% higher than that of steel molds.

Plywood Feature:

High Strength and Rigidity: Phenolic resin is inherently strong and hard. When impregnated into the surface paper or penetrated into the base material (such as multi-layer wood panels or bamboo curtains), it significantly enhances the overall mechanical properties of the formwork. It can withstand significant lateral pressure from concrete and is resistant to deformation, bending, or fracture. Support spacing can be increased appropriately, reducing the amount of support material used.

Durability: The phenolic resin layer provides excellent wear, impact, and scratch resistance, effectively resisting wear and impact during construction. It is also highly resistant to alkaline substances in cement and is not easily corroded. Under proper use and maintenance, it can be used over 10 times.

Excellent Release Properties and Surface Finish:

The phenolic resin surface is extremely dense and smooth, with extremely low water absorption (almost zero). After pouring, concrete resists sticking and is easily removed from the formwork, requiring virtually no release agent. The removed concrete surface is exceptionally smooth, even, and uniform in color, achieving the appearance of "bright concrete," significantly reducing subsequent plastering work and even allowing for direct finishing, saving both cost and time. This is a key reason why it is chosen for many projects.

Excellent water resistance: The dense phenolic resin layer effectively blocks moisture penetration, preventing the formwork from swelling, deformation, or delamination due to water absorption. It also maintains excellent dimensional stability even in humid environments, extending its service life.

Excellent flame retardancy: Phenolic resin is inherently self-extinguishing and does not burn easily in the presence of fire, slowing the spread of fire and improving fire safety on construction sites.
